Based on the videogame series (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Onee_Chanbara_(series)) of the same name. Well, Japanese name. Some of the games were released in the UK as Zombie Zone and Zombie Hunters.

Thats really all you need to know about the games. And then they took that and decided to make a live action movie.

Wow that looks absolutely horrible.  Like a student film except worse.

I was kinda expecting it to be on the level of Casshern or Shinobi, but Scott sums it up fairly well.
