Title: Today we got a duck
Post by: idolminds on Tuesday, May 13, 2008, 01:46:52 PM
Obviously, we named him Howard.

Our neighbors ended up with him in a weird way. They got some sheep, and the people that gave them the sheep also gave them the duck since apparently the duck and the sheep were friends. This was ok for a while, they kept him in with their chickens.

It seems he made a mess of the chickens water dish, so they tried to put him out in their pond. He didnt stay out there. So they gave him to us.

Theres a long tale of how after getting him here and letting him out to walk around...catching him again was a huge pain in the ass. Especially by yourself. Like I had to do.

I'm not bitter.

Without pictures, this thread fails. So you got all bitter for nothing.

I got a duck for Easter once when I was really little.  We gave it to a guy that owned some big lake later that day.

Terrifying.

I too am disappointed by the lack of pics in this tread.

I like ducks.  When I lived over at the marina, there were a couple who used to come over from the marshes to check out our pool.  They'd go for a swim then sit on our doorstep to dry off, leaving little duck-shaped wet spots after they'd left.  It was a male and female.  They were fun.  Drove our maintenance guy crazy because they got dirt and stuff in the pool.
