Title: Playxpert in-game widget...thingy.
Post by: idolminds on Thursday, May 29, 2008, 06:44:45 PM
Interesting (http://www.playxpert.com/web/guest/product)

One of the neat things in Xfire and Steam is the in-game overlay. Press a key combo and it pops up letting you do various things. For example, you can mess with your Steam friends list and IM your buddies. The only problem is its pretty limited in its usefulness.

This Playxpert thing aims to do something more. People can make game-specific widgets. For example, you can search Thottbot without ever leaving your WoW game. It just shows up in a transparent window. No more alt-tabbing out. Same can be done with Guild Wars and other games.

I don't see it on the site anywhere, but I hope the bar can be hidden and brought back with a keypress. I dont want it on my screen all the time.

Huh... being the Guild Wars freak that I currently am, perhaps this could be useful.

Interesting. I used to use xfire when I played CoD and while I loved the usefulness of it (getting around chatting on a server where all chats are logged is handy), I hated the program itself.
