I woke up before dawn with booming lighting strikes and sirens. The rest of the day has not improved. Now here comes the next round of severe thunderstorms. Satellite TV is worthless. I'm surprised we haven't lost power, but the evening is young. God this sucks.
-
You'll probably hate me if I say that it's uncomfortably hot here right now, won't you? We're in a drought and all I ever hear from anyone is that it's raining. I hate this fucking state.
-
It's hot here too actually. Something like 83 even with all the rain. 92 tomorrow.
But yeah there was a damn flood on I-75 North from barrier to barrier. I got through it, but it made me late.

I got the same, where do you live?
-
Dark skies and a slow drizzle of rain here. Just like every other goddamn day.
-
lots of rain here... but that's okay... i hope the rain's all gone by first week of july

man, it got to 42C (108F) today after humidity. It's barely June. Canada is supposed to be cold dammit.
-
I've never been too picky when it comes to weather. I can talk about it, if need be. But I'm adaptable.
-
If you can't talk about the weather how are you supposed to make small talk or communicate with the elderly?
-
Ugh. Shittiest weekend ever. We've been getting stomped by the weather. Tornadoes on the ground just to the north and south of us. Last night something in the basement shorted and popped the breaker. Which meant the power was off downstairs. Which means the sump pump was off. Which means we had 4 inches of water in the basement this morning.
-
I find it funny that new houses with basements are required to have sump pumps, but they are not required to have backup power. The kind of storms that flood basements often knock out electric power.
Sorry to hear that. We didn't get water in the basement this time. A new plastic lid on the tin well around a basement window seems to have done the trick. There were 2 days of downpour earlier in the year which got the carpeting in the finished basement sopped. That took a while to dry off with a dehumidifier and box fan. The smell was awful too. I hate carpets in basements. I didn't do it.
It seems like you had a lot more of this hellish weather than we did. There was one tornado nearby the day I created the thread, but we've had nothing other than summer heat and sunshine since. It's been in the 80s and low 90s here. My brother's AC compressor failed a few days ago. Sucks to be him right now.
-
My AC isn't working right either. Luckily there is a cooling trend and humidity is going down. Also we have a home warranty that's still in effect.
-
My brother does too, but he can't put it off at all. It's the 1-year appliances warranty he got from his house's previous owner, and that expires late this month. He only has to pay $50 or so.
