Attack and Release is a great album
-
I went and saw them in Columbus last night at the LC. Oh man! It's amazing how much noise these 2 guys can make. They were awesome.
I think Dan Auerbach has one of the strongest guitars I've heard in a very long time. He reminds me a lot of Hendrix. And Patrick Carney is awesome on the drum kit. Plus it's freaking cool that the guy taught himself how to play the drums by listening to the Wu-Tang clan, and trying to mimic the beats. Awesome awesome band.
-
I got into them pretty recently as well. Seeing them alive must've been amazing. Hopefully they make it north of the border sometime.
-
Not sure if you all care, but this is one of the new songs from the new album. Cool video too. Babes in bikinis, and a singing dinosaur.

Haha, fucking awesome. The song is sweet, too. I should be checking these dudes out.
-
Well, now I'm a fan. And not just the babes, the music is awesome.
-
oooooh - i like.
-
Glad you all like it. Most of their stuff is all good. And they're really good live.
-
Downloaded a disco like an hour ago... gonna' check it out.
-
Japandroids are my new favorite two piece act.
-
Japanroids are awesome, I haven't gotten the chance to see them yet.
Check out The Pack A.D.:
Two girls, also from Vancouver, who know how to put on a show.
-
Gotta say, I fucking love these guys. Torrented a discography and then went out and bought 3 albums. This is really good shit.
-
Did you get their newest cd? It just came out on Tuesday. I can't decide if I should buy it or not.
-
I got it. It's really really good. On par with all of their other stuff.
-
What's the newest? The only one I saw in the store that wasn't in the disco I downloaded was Brothers, which is great.
-
That would be the new one.
-
Some of it is a bit painful for me to listen to right now. Great album, though. Magic Potion is, I think, my favorite so far, though. I can't stop listening to that one.
-
Magic Potion is my favourite too. Attack and Release sounded too forced or contrived or something. I don't know what I'm trying to say, it just wasn't as good.
-
Well it was produced by Danger Mouse, for better or worse. Still a great album though, and Things ain't like they used to be is a jam.
-
I like Brothers a lot. I really like "The Only One", "The Go Getter", "She's Long Gone", and "These Days". But my fav album is still Magic Potion.
I can see why some of it would be painful to listen to. Lots of songs about lost love, and such. Makes you want to drink. But man, I love this stuff.
Ohio representin'!

hahah best music video ever?
edit:
This is the song that made me a fan of theirs:
If you haven't seen Black Snake Moan yet, do watch it. Isn't a bad movie.
-
Yeah, that's a great song.
And yeah, this is some of the best drinking music ever. Considering I've been drinking almost every single night for two weeks, it's fitting.
-
Got tickets to go see them again in August! Gonna be a sweet outdoor show.

-
I haven't heard any of the new album. But I'm being told by quite a few people that it's a bit pedestrian compared to their other albums. Almost like they forgot they're a rock band or something.
-
Nope. It's good stuff.
-
Got Brothers today. I absolutely love the album artwork. Hilarious.
