Title: Demakes
Post by: idolminds on Saturday, September 13, 2008, 01:51:40 PM
Linky (http://www.tigsource.com/features/demakes/)

The Independent Gaming Source is having a little contest, and this time its demakes, which are remakes of more recent games as if they were a bootleg ripoff on an older system. Silent Hill 2...on NES? Stuff like that.

Some of them are actually really cool. I like Squish (demake of the PSP game Crush), and Gang Garrison II (TF2). GG2 actually has multiplayer, which I was surprised about. Some special functions for classes dont work, so playing a spy or engineer has no real use yet, but otherwise its fun. I started a server and within a few minutes some people joined. It was neat and unexpected.

The "Alice" demake called Underland is hilarious.

Hehe Large-Scale Vehicular Stealing and Soundless Mountain II made me chuckle :D

S.T.A.C.K.E.R. was very obvious but still amusing :P

I've never played the Bleach game, I just watch the anime series, but Whitener was another amusing one.

SOme of these are actually pretty cool!

Some very talented people work on this stuff.  As throwaway projects go, these can be really cool and fun.  If you have free time and nothing pressing to play, they're great little ways to waste time, and are even more interesting if you're into development.

I'm bumping this because you people should be checking it out.  But seriously, every Silent Hill fan should download the Soundless Mountain II demake.  It's really fucking cool.  Seriously, try it!
