Valve announces the addition of the Call of Duty series and GUN to their Steam online store, saying they will be offering GUN, Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty, and Call of Duty: United Offensive. They also announce that City Life, Monte Cristo's urban-planning game is now available via Steam.

They better not make it mandatory online play through steam. I play Cod:UO online all the time. It's one of the best fps games out there.
-
I wonder what they'll charge.
And damn, CoD just doesnt seem to ever drop in price.
-
Update: Valve has provided Shacknews with pricing information for the games. Call of Duty, Call of Duty United Offensive, and GUN will all be priced at $19.95. Call of Duty 2 will be priced at $39.95. All four games are expected to launch this month.
So thats that.

I just learned that CoD 3 is not for the PC. What's up with that fucking bullshit?
-
The good CoD games are made by Infinity Ward. They will be making CoD4. CoD 3 was made by Treyarch, the people that do the console CoD games.
I guess the plan now is alternating, IW makes one for PC, Treyarch makes one for consoles.
-
Treyarch is still around? If memory serves, they did Draconus: Cult of the Wyrm for DC. I fucking love that game. I have so little interest in Call of Duty it's like a negative space that sucks in all matter around it. Even as we speak this thread is being sucked into the nether.
EDIT - Bingo. (http://www.gamespot.com/dreamcast/adventure/draconuscultofthewyrm/review.html) Damn. I want to go back and play that so bad right now.
-
Treyarch have been doing quite a bit of console stuff.. They've worked on most (if not all) the Spider-Man games with Gray Matter. I'm just glad the PC CoD's are made by Infinity Ward. They know their stuff, especially for multiplayer.
-
Most definitely. I still play UO on a daily basis, mostly because my laptop can't run most of the newer games.
-
I played COD1 and loved it, but couldn't bear to start COD2. I thought while COD1 was extremely well designed, and that I could expect the same quality from COD2, I just couldn't -- and still can not -- put up with another world war themed shooter.

Yeah, I'm sick of WW2 games.. I don't wanna play any more of them. Company of Heroes being an exception, of course. I really wanted to play CoD2 multiplayer, but no one I knew was interested or even had it at the time.. I think my favourite WW2 game is still MOHAA. I'm not a big fan of deathmatch, but MOHAA made me love it. I like the assault/team games a little more though :P

COD2 mp was nowhere close to the perfection that is COD:UO multiplayer. It does look prettier, though.
-
CoD4 will be a modern day shooter.
-
Hey that's not bad.
-
Will CoD3 be ported to the PC....?
Is CoD4 coming to the PC?

Deja vu. Someone at work today said almost the exact same thing.
I have. I had the UO expansion, but I was unable to play online so I never got the chance. I liked CoD multi when it first came out. It was all strategic. Then it turned into basically a Counter-Strike clone with the way the people began to play the game.
-
CoD3 so far, no PC version.
CoD4 will be PC, and maybe ported to consoles.

Why the heck won't they port it????

Better be for the PC. CoD started on the PC.

The ORIGINAL Call of Duty (that was once ONLY on the PC) is actually coming to the consoles.
CoD (Original) is coming to both the XBLA and PSN, eventually (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3173474)
