Linky (http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/)
Apparently the switch was announced back in July, and the actual switch happened 5 months before that. Today they released a video to show off what they have done and it looks great. It'll be really interesting to see how it develops. Gameplay stuff is in LUA so modding should be easy, since the lighting is realtime maps no longer have to compile so editing them will be easier, since they are no longer constrained by the Source engine they can go ahead and make all sorts of custom changes.

Okay.

Cool. These guys did an impressive job with the original mod. If their quality is up to par, I expect they'll eventually develop this one as a full multiplayer game and sell it.
-
Well, that is the plan for NS2.

Oh hehe I was not fully aware of that :P I wish them a lot of success! It is a very creative multiplayer endeavour.

NS was an interesting premise, but I felt it was too unbalanced. The more ground you held, not only were you more powerful, you were 10x more powerful. If one of the teams had all three points it was pretty much over. It was just frustrating.

It's looking pretty good so far!

I've only played NS once or twice and can't really remember it at all anymore.

Dumping Source is always a good decision.

Those screens kinda look like mockups....or at least not ingame.
