This is the joke song I've been working on for the Gamers With Jobs podcast, in honor of Brad Wardell of Stardock. It started when one of the guys on the podcast accidentally said his last name as "Wardock", which I thought was pretty hilarious.
The Rumored End - Wardock (http://www.theflyingmonkeyapparatus.com/music/The Rumored End - Wardock.mp3) (about 8 megs)
High above the earth he hovers.
All you heathens run for cover!
Here to bring true gaming doctrine,
his chariot descends.
Bring poor philosophy, he'll kill it
in the space of a single minute.
He protects the rights of those he serves,
and has justified his ends.
Impulse driven,
war descends.
See the clock,
Armageddon's watch.
Flee the eye
of Wardock.
He, through the eye
of a storm digital.
No industry shill,
yet still pivotal.
Fearing no man,
he lays all to waste,
reaching his arms
through all time and space.
Covered in war
for all of our sakes,
bleeding 'em dry
because that's what it takes
given the state
of this sick industry.
Burn the suits
and all their money!
Here to set your downloads free,
a pulse to break the chains of tyranny.
March to war, under this banner
and you can join the fight!
Ultraviolent, we're on nightmare mode.
They needest a wet nurse, their heads will explode!
They won't have the strength to continue to mock
the victories of Wardock.

Though this is not my style, I have to congratulate you on your creativity and talent. I could never produce something remotely musical. What would you call it, death metal?

I guess this would qualify as death metal. My original idea was something a little more along the lines of Iron Maiden or something a little more cheesy, but I guess having fun sometimes supersedes creativity, and I had a lot of fun with this despite the simplicity of it. The lyrics were probably the most fun, though short-lived. It took me forever to think up the first couple of lines, then the rest just kind of came out. I hope it's funny, but it's hard for me to tell at this point. I hope somebody gets a laugh out of it, at least.
