Comes at the end. Actually not so bad.

That fatality was pretty funny, its too bad they paired DC with one of my least favorite fighting games.
-
I think that was the only thing they could do to save Mortal Kombat. They somehow convinced DC to pair up and drew attention.
I didn't mind Mortal Kombat back in the day when it first surfaced. The novelty wore off after MK2.
The next fighting game I'm getting is Street Fighter 4.

5 min MK vs. DC Video.
It's on all kinds of different moves (special moves and pro moves), combos, and whatnot for all kinds of different characters shown off here. (http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/55563)

can't remember which one it is, but i've got one of the 3D MKs on the PS2 (the one with 3 different stances - 1 with a weapon) and it's actually pretty fucking awesome. i wasn't expecting much from it, but it turned out to be one of my favourite fighters on the system. although i'm an SF nut, and will probably be spending all my beat em up time with SF4 for the foreseeable future, i'm not going to discount this one - it could turn out to be a lot of fun.

I actually thought the new MK games weren't bad.
-
Last MK I played was MK4 on the PC.
Liked it quite a bit.
-
Deception was pretty awesome. The RPGish type mode in the game actually held my attention too.
-
There you go. I enjoyed it myself.

Yeah, the new ones were surprisingly competent. Though still far from my favorite fighters of the modern era.
-
Yup.
So I got this for the 360 today. While it isn't earth shattering, it is far above the train wreck people were predicting. It is fun, especially for those who are fans of DC... since those particular characters are woefully underrepresented in video gaming. The storymode is quite well woven as well.... well as far as fighting games go.
The whole thing feels so visceral, especially for someone who has been playing Soul Calibur and DoA for the past year. You really feel the impact on every punch, and it really feels like an actual street fight.
Yes the blood isn't nearly as over the top as it was in the past, but you know, it kinda works well, in that it adds to that raw fighting atmosphere.
I also like the fact that many of the characters fight with a slobberknocker style, as if they never had any training. Take Superman for example... since he actually never needed to learn any form of martial arts, his punches feel very backalleyish... and in a good way.
While I haven't played beyond an hour, I have to say, some of the DC characters feel overpowered, though I guess that is to be expected. I also find the roster surprisingly small -- where the hell are guys like Johnny Cage and Martian Manhunter ? --, and the game to lack the depth of the last three MK titles.
The move lists are surprisingly weak for the MK stars, and the combos aren't nearly as grand as those of Deception.
In a way, the game feels like it was designed to appeal to the more casual crowd.
And finally, the game doesn't look that great... especially when compared to a game as beautiful as Soul Calibur. That has a lot to do with them choosing the Unreal engine, and I can imagine them making a kick ass proprietary one if this game sells well. But aside from the technical aspects, some of the character design is a bit crude; Sonya looks like a transvestite.
In the end, the game isn't the best looking, nor is it the deepest, but from first impressions, it is quite a bit of fun.
