Title: Battlestar Galactica

So, I was looking for a new TV show to watch. I'm not sure why I've waited this long to check Battlestar Galactica out as I'm usually a sucker for this type of stuff. Anyway, I just watched "Battlestar Galactica: The Story so Far". I'm interested. I was just wondering if "The story so Far" will suffice as a "catcher upper", or will I still be lost on a lot of things? For those of you who checked it out anyway. Any ideas? I mean, I still want to check out the first, what is it? 3 seasons, but I just don't have the time right now.

They just started season three on Oct 2.  Watch the first two.  Not all episodes are important to the story, but I think overall it really gives a great feel to where things are at now.

Aimee and I just finished the second season and it's a definitely worth watching. There are certain things the series goes for that are just completely fracking awesome. There are a couple of semi-dud episodes, but that's only in comparision to the things they manage to pull off in the major ones. It's also worth watching because there are probably a lot of little details that weren't touched upon in the catch up episode and seeing the details of things is probably one of my favorite things about the series.

I'm trying to get caught up. So far, I'm loving it. I actually just finished watching the Mini. And I ordered season 1.

I'm really starting to dig this show. I love it. The battles, the story, everything. It's very epic. Just bad ass.

I start geeking out when battles happen. Like when you see a fighter in trouble, and you're like "oh no, s/he's gonan die!", and then bam some bad ass fighter's ship pops into screen, and those war drums start playing. It's just fucking cool.

I think the CGI is extremely impressive, as is the way they capture it.  Like it's not some swooping fake camera.  It's like there is an actual person holding the camera the way it moves and shakes and zooms.

But yeah, the show is pretty awesome.

Isn't that one Cylon guy the new James Bond.

nope, you're thinking of daniel craig. i guess he does kind of look like one of the skinjobs though.

but anyway, yeah - the show kicks ass. only started watching it because of what some of you guys said. the 3rd season is starting to heat up already. can't wait for each new episode.

Wow, really?  The one that is keeping Starbuck in captivity in that one apartment looks so similar to the new James Bond, this Daniel Craig you speak of.  I thought for sure it was the same guy.

Same here.  I don't even remember who it was, but several people were talking about how awesome the show was after the season two finale, so I watched both seasons, including the miniseries and have been hooked.

What sucks though is I usually work 12pm - 9pm on Fridays, so I miss about a half hour of each show now.

Regrettably Im missing the show, Ive had to work every friday evening. *sigh* I guess Im just gonna have to wait for the DVD release since Ive already missed a couple episodes and Im pretty anal about watching things in order.

Especially now that they are back in space.  They were on the planet for four episodes?  That's it?  Seems like a huge waste.

That shit with Casey was crazy, though.  That's gotta fuck Starbuck up a little.

I agree completely, I just thought it almost seemed wasteful for that whole part of the plotline.  More in the spoiler...

I mean being on New Caprica seemed like a huge deal in terms of the human race in the show, but it lasted for a very short time in terms of realtime/outside of the show and now they are right back where they started.  Seems like we got fucked by last season's cliff-hanger, basically.

That one was just freakin amazing. I wasnt really expecting them to stay on that planet for long, I mean alot of big things did happen while they were there. Does anybody else think that Saul is becoming the ultimate grizzled badass on the show now. He lost his eye and that bitch of a wife is finally out of the picture, now really nothing is going to hold him back, at least as it stands.

Looks like Saul got his act together.  I was surprised though that for how long the episode was, how little actually happened.  It was all just about Bulldog.

Well, I guess its now in a mid season break. There hasnt been an episode in 3 weeks. Though I'm getting a little worried, their website says they will be changing time slots this month in order to improve ratings. I hope the show isn't doing bad.

So I'm guessing the final five is revealed. Saul, Galen, Sam, Roslin's Assistant (forgot her name) and I think Kera (starbuck). I was kinda seeing Kera as a cylone coming, I just couldn't believe her being dumped like that so easily. Still, its all so fucking crazy. Saul a cylone!! It's like a blind white supremist finding out he's black. Anyway, that was quite the season. I look forward to more.

I've heard that they might release a short series on what happened on the original Pegasus while we wait for Season 4.
