Repeat of 1930s all around then?
-
I for one welcome this. Dust Bowl conditions + proliferation of digital cameras = me entertained.
-
The Dust Bowl was mostly a man-made problem. I don't understand why the article brought it up, other than the location of the drought.
-
I blame the Mexicans.
Seriously, though, we aren't getting enough water here in California. There has been so little rain. And the ignorant people who live here keep going on about how great it is that the days are so nice, and whenever the clouds come in, "Oh no, what a crappy day", blah blah blah. If you morons knew anything at all you'd be on your knees praying for rain, not out basting yourself like a damned turkey because you think for some reason that looking like a greasy dinner is attractive.
-
We had a pretty severe drought around these parts a year or so ago. At one point the water supply for the state was down to a 30-day supply. You couldn't wash your car, water your grass, and there were other severe restrictions. Droughts suck.

I get the opposite. Vancouver is technically in a rainforest and whenever there's a huge bought of rain and people bitch some idiots are all like "But you neeed the rain!!!!!!!"
No shit? That's not the fucking point, we need violence and disease to avoid surpassing carrying capacity and experiencing a climatic population crash, but that doesn't mean I can't say it sucks when someone dies of cancer. Then again, I don't live in a desert.

I can't believe you just compared rain to murder and cancer. You must really hate rain...
-
It didn't rain here all summer, basically. The previous summer was worse. Moisture has returned, but I think the climate has become much drier during the warm months, long-term.

Indeed. Rain forest.
