Darkstar One joins the GOG Club. (http://www.gog.com/en/frontpage/)
Always good to see a game released with not-so-nice DRM (StarForce, on its retail disc version) get re-released digitally with NO DRM (over GOG).
New release: Darkstar One
An innovative and action-packed space shooter, Darkstar One arms you with a unique ship and plunges you straight into the middle of a galactic crisis.
You're a brand new Escort Pilot, fresh out of the academy, dreaming of long shifts guarding ore barges for a handful of credits. You look out the window and see this awesome, mean-looking ship and think to yourself "I would love to get my hands on that". Turns out you can and it's not just any ship. Over the course of your adventure you will be able (and encouraged) to upgrade it, also visually, turning it into an agile gunship, a turret-laden hulk or something in between. Also, since the controls are very intuitive, you don't have to be a Freespace vet to enjoy this game.

The disc version has starforce? Damnit...
Its a pretty cool game, at any rate. Though the missions can get pretty repetitive.

Actually, I might've been wrong.
The Russian Version has StarForce.
About the USA version, I'm lookin' online -- not sure if it was Tages or SF now...

The German version had Tages. That's the one I played. It's a pretty cool game.
It's not that old of a game though.
