Title: Wow, Psychonauts is really awful.
Post by: Pugnate on Tuesday, December 23, 2008, 01:40:13 AM
Just kidding. It is quite nice. I finished the basic training bit, and am now at the parking lot area. So, any tips?

Tip 1 - don't die.

When do I get my psychic powers?

I started replaying it about a year ago and then stopped and eventually uninstalled it for some reason.  I kind of want to go through it again now.  The only real tips I can think of are...well, you're not at that point yet, but generally try to use your divining rod to find arrow heads around the campsite quite a bit at the start - they're very useful early game.  The amount of detail they put in is astounding though.   Once you get the "perception" ability look at everything for some entertaining times.

Talk to everyone you see multiple times.  Otherwise you'll miss a lot of the funny

I remember playing Psychonauts on the Xbox a couple of years back. I tried it on PC some time last year and it still looked good! It's definitely the art that shines through. It's arguably one of the best games I've ever played.

The last level was terribly frustrating for me, but aside from that I can find little fault with the game.

That was driving me mad! I had to take a break from the game for a few days.

Ahhh, Psychonauts was pretty good.
The good old days, when Schafer multi-platformed his games...

I think this was just the one, but way to make this thread topical.

I should go finish Psychonauts, sometime.
The game's a blast and absolutely hilarious.

Funny that I never finished it.
Must've been a lot of other games on my plate or something.

I never uninstalled it, though.
Good thing -- as right now, I'm on a platforming game kick i.e. Assassin's Creed PC and PoP 2008 PC.

Psycho-pedia (http://www.doublefine.com/news.php/Psycho-pedia/) at doublefine.  New activity after all this time.  Is Steam reviving the game?

Have you ever uninstalled anything? :P

Stuff I finish or don't play too much, yes.

Some unfinished stuff that wound up uninstalled - Quake Wars (can't really say "finish" that one); Black & White 2: Complete; PK: Overdose; Homeworld 1 and 2 (never started neither); Mark Echo's Getting Up; Tom Clancy's GRAW; TR Anniversary; Silent Storm 2: Complete (never started); Uru: Complete Chronicles; XIII;

Finished stuff that got uninstalled -- BG&E (Steam Version); Assassin's Creed; Space Siege; SOF: Payback; True Crime: NYC; Bioshock; Oblivion; Sam and Max Episodes: Season One; AITD 2008;

I'm sure there's more I can't think of for both...
