If you can do this, just send me a PM please.
Basically, I need to buy some games on STEAM before the sale runs out. Unfortunately, my Paypal is registered in Canada, and every time I try to pay, it tells me that I can't pay for the game because I am in another country from my paypal. And my two Visas don't seem to work on STEAM like a lot of places online.
So, I need someone to gift me a few games on STEAM. When you are checking out on STEAM, you just have to click on the gift option and enter my e-mail, and the games are sent to me and happy day etc etc.
Basically, if you can do this, FIRST I will just send the money to you on paypal (I used the account to pay W7RE for a few Gamecube games a year back, which he easily withdrew to his bank account), and then you can send me the games. I will include the paypal fees of course, and will obviously send you the complete payment.
If you aren't able to do this, absolutely no worries... but if it possible, I'd love to buy a few games before the sale runs out.
And to answer Que's question, STEAM is a godsend in a place like this, otherwise I would be buying retail.

Jesus, Pug -- your "REAL" avatars deserve the Steam symbols and icons, not mine.
-
haha I think I got to D.
-
Pug, you're such a damn Valve / Steam fanboy...
EDIT:
You wish you could get to me.
That takes a lot, actually.

Hey you know what? I just checked your STEAM games list. You seem to have tons more games on STEAM than I do. Yet you are so much more vocal about your hatred for it. :P
Why do you deny your feelings?
EDIT: (The real kind, not the steam lovin' D kind):
NOT FROM WHAT I HEAR!

I make sure I don't pay full price for Steam-protected games.

IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU GOT A HOOKER FOR A $100 OR $25! YOU STILL HAD SEX WITH A PROSTITUTE!

In a PC gaming world infested with Securom DRM, Steam DRM, G4WL Requirement, Rockstar Social Club requirements, and other unnecessary bullshit schemes that exist -- you just gotta' tolerate it, sometimes.
*shrug*

Did you just say that?

No, I typed it.

Well, good for you then! :P
EDIT:
If GOG.com didn't have Dark Star One, I probably would've bought it for $5 over Steam by now. But, I would rather support no-DRM (GOG) over Steam DRM. I think it's worth the extra $5 to have zero DRM over Steam DRM, myself. I haven't bought DSO yet from GOG, but I will...in due time.
I've been playing X3: Reunion, here and there again. So, I'm still debating on buying X2: The Threat for $5 from Steam or not.

*Sigh*
Sigh of relief?
Or a not-so-good kinda sigh?
-
Sigh of meaninglessness. What I see here is meaningless. Meaningless, I tell you. I can't tell who's who anymore.
-
I...understand...

I would help you out, but I wouldn't have the money before the sale ends, and I don't have the money in my account to cover it until then.
I don't actually have a paypal account or know how to use it, I used my mom's when I sold you the games. I don't even know how to use Paypal rofl. I also don't have a timely way to transfer money into my own account, since there's no branches near me, I only get money in there monthly from a direct deposit I have setup.
I can vouch for Pug's reliability though, he did send me the money as he said, and I think he even overcompensated for the Paypal fees.
-
Puggy, I need to check my card (since I haven't used it in aaages) if all goes well I will be your saviour!

Many (most?) games on Steam have no protection.

Steamworks IS their DRM protection, actually. Internet style of DRM.
It's not your typical DRM, as it pretty much paved the way pretty much for games -- especially SP-based games that you buy in a retail box at your local store -- to suddenly decide to require activation online to their very own servers for you to actually begin using your game -- which pretty much the newer and much more vicious Securom and Tages use often, these days.
Only one account -- your single account -- can play the game, too. At least you can use it on ANY PC, though.
And you really can't resell your Steam game, either. Not that I would want to, anyways -- I like keeping my games.
Also, some 3rd party Steam games have additional DRM imposed on their -- i.e. Tages and Securoms install limits -- see Sacred 2, Crysis: Warhead, STALKER: Clear Sky, and X3: Terran Conflict.

I think we're all lucky Pug didn't ask for the other kind of favor he always wants - the one involving peanut butter and nudity. It's extremely unpleasant. And weird.
I'd help you out but I don't have a Paypal account.
-
I don't do Paypal.
I do have a guest pass for The Ship, if that counts. :P
-
I think this is covered. Let me know how it works out.
-
Yeah, I'd help but I've never received money on Paypal before and don't know how it works. I'm guessing you need a linked bank account and I don't have that, so not much help from me. Hope Xessive can rescue you, man!
-
Hey, some Canadian actually did help me out, and I am quite grateful. But thanks guys. :)

Still need a Guess Pass for The Ship? :P

All Steamworks does is trip the game's launcher. Unless the game has a second (real) layer of DRM built-in, you can play the game without Steam by launching the executable yourself.
