You know some people who worked for The Onion just sat down and came up with hilarious sentences for hours.

The Onion wouldn't work along with a number of other sites, regardless of which browser I used. I assumed it was my own doing somewhere along the line. Interesting that you have similar problems.

The best part of The Onion is the little throwaway one-liners they have. Watch the news tickers.
