I was curious who did the voice of Marcus Fenix in Gears so I did a search and one of the results I found was this blog on Gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com/users/5_LD_5/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25446095). Not only does it have Marcus Fenix, but a long list of other big memorable voice performances in games. Not only did John DiMaggio voice Marcus, but he also did Wakka and Kimahri from FFX. Interesting stuff.

I will never forget that when I first played Gears I thought that they were paying homage to Terry Tate with Cole Train. I was then pleased to find it actually was Terry Tate.

Oh c'mon, Jennifer Hale is one of the most notable voice actresses around! Her voice is in plenty of stuff and her performance in MGS4 was damn good!
Kari Wahlgren is another of my favourites.
I like Nolan North (Nathan Drake Uncharted and The Prince PoP 2008), he really nails that swashbuckling, adventuring character. Plus I like how clearly he speaks despite whatever accent he uses.
Then there's Fred Tatasciore, whose voice is pretty much every deep, almost monstrous, voice you've ever heard in any big title.
Maurice LaMarche (The Brain from Pinky & The Brain) is one of my all-time favourites growing up. Phil Lamarr (Samurai Jack) is pretty good and versatile too.
One of my absolute favourites and hilarious voices is Tress MacNeille. She's all over The Simpsons, Futurama, and a number of others between shows and games.

It's sometimes surprising that a lot of people you've seen elsewhere are in games. I was playing Halo 2 and notice that Captain Miranda Keyes sounded really familiar. So I looked it up and turns out she's voiced by Julie Benz, the actress that plays Rita in Dexter. (also in Saw V)

Julia has an uncanny penchant for noticing these things. She's brought tons of game/anime/movie/CG crossovers to my attention. Both of us are mildly interested in voice acting now, and we spend a fair bit of time looking up names and such when she noticing a similarity between one character and another.

I do that a lot too. I'm always hitting up IMDB and Wikipedia when I notice stuff like that.

Paul Eiding pops up everywhere. He was the voice of Colonel Campbell in the MGS series and he has a few speaking parts in Diablo 2. God of War, all sorts of other games.

Ooooh, so she was also Jessica Cannon in Sin - Episode 1: Emergence, too.
I so would like to see a Sin - Episode 2 still.
Just, let's find a really good shooter company that would know what the hell to do with that SiN franchise.
