I still have a HL2 gift to give away. I can't even get rid of that. Everyone has it already.
Well except my brother. He wants it but his computer doesn't even have a AGP slot, much less a PCIe slot.

Ditto.

Yeah, I have HL2 and EP1 to "gift" to someone. Great.
I would really like to get Kings Bounty, but I've been spending too much recently. grrr...
-
What does that mean? You have a copy of the game to give away?

When you have a "gift" (as it's referred to over Steam), it's an extra copy of a (whatever said) game to give to someone else.

Yep. You just basically give a license for the game to another Steam profile of your choosing.
I got a license for HL2 with my Radeon 9800 XT. Then HL2 came with the Orange Box. That's how I got my second license. It shows up in Steam on the games page as "1 Gift."
-
What happened was if you owned HL2 and EP1 from before and then bought the Orange Box, you got extra copies of them to give away.

Yeah, same here.
I got both HL2 and HL2: Ep 1 still as "Gifts" b/c of the above.

It took me forever to get HL2, and until I did I messed around with it a bit on my brother's Steam account. Eventually I bought the Orange Box. I still need to play through HL2.
