Article (http://www.gamesetwatch.com/2009/02/opinion_why_we_need_to_rebrand.php)
I read this this morning. In it he says using the term "free to play" is bad for all those "free" MMOs that also have a microtransaction element. Players see it as a bait and switch, especially when the game limits the free player a lot. He suggests "Micro-Transaction Game" instead. Be sure to read the first comment to the story which gives the opposite opinion, since people don't like the word "microtransaction".
Anyway, a good read. But its also made me want to check out the game the person works on. It sounds like they have the right idea: don't limit the free player so much. They realize you need the free players to make a large community, since no one is going to pay if the community is tiny. So I'm going to go check it out. That was the problem I had with Wizard 101: it was a cool game, but you run out of free content REALLY fast. They even gave me quests I could not complete without paying to unlock certain areas. Just gave me a negative feeling.

What game? I read through the article briefly and didn't see it mentioned.

It was at the top, where they explain the author. Asda Story.

HA! On the Asda Story (http://asdastory.gamescampus.com/) website the title banner says "Free to Play" aright at the top :P
