There should be some rule that forbids you from rebooting a movie franchise so soon after you convert it into a pile of crap. Like at least a decade wait rule or something. This pile of turd is far too freshly stinking in our minds.
-
They just did that to The Hulk too.
Silver Surfer really was awful, so I can't say I'm too broken up about it.
-
"Bubble gum..." What an apt description of those movies. The first was bad enough. I didn't bother with the second.
-
Idiots, if they want it to be "less bubblegum" choose a different franchise! The Fantastic Four are about as "bubblegum" as the Marvel universe gets. They're like the Bionic Six of Marvel.
-
I didn't even bother with the movies we got before. I can't think of much that would change my mind going forward.

Ahaha, i remember that show and i'm pretty sure i had a couple Bionic Six action figures. Well done sir.

It was good stuff :D Their opening theme still rings in my head sometimes.
Remember The Centurions (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5168yjG3Qw)?

Oh god... I clicked that and realized I am going to spend a few hours looking up other cartoon stuff on youtube.

Looking at that stuff made me cringe and feel extremely uneasy. I know not why.

Jessica Alba's ass looked good in spandex.
That's all I have to offer to this thread.
-
Jessica Alba lost any respect and/or admiration I had for her when they Punk'd her. She kept talking about Dax's "bidness." It annoyed the shit out of me.
-
Alba is hot. I guess what makes her hot to me is seems more "normal." Like she's not "too hot" y'know? She seems more attainable I guess. Like if you called a buddy and said "I'm on a date with Jessica Alba" you'll probably geta response like "No way!! Send a pic man! Wow!" Whereas if you said "I'm on a date with Angelina Jolie" your buddy will say "fuck off man" and hang up.
Dax is awesome hehe I thought he was hilarious in Idiocracy.

Who's Dax?

Who's Dax?
Dax Shepard (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1009277/)
-
Oh. I've only seen one thign with him in it: Without a Paddle.
I'm not sure why, but Jessica Alba is one of those celebrities I've always assumed is stuck up, as well as one of those people who get by on looks to make up for lack of intelligence. Not sure why. Remembering F4 though made me remember that she looked hot in the costume.

I really liked her in Good Luck Chuck. She was an adorable klutz :P
-
I first noticed her in Sin City. But nothing I've seen since has shown her off as well. I guess monochrome agrees with her.

I first noticed her in Idle Hands. According to IMDb she's been in all sorts of stuff since 1994.
Her namesake rings for me since Goya is one of my favourite artists and his muse, and subject of many portraits, was the Duchess of Alba.

I know what you mean! I thought she was quite hot, but then I saw her on Leno! She was talking like some uneducated street hooker.

1. I hate Jessica Alba, she has the kind of fans that actually believe she can act. She is only in movies because she is attractive. I first saw her as a kid in the "Flipper" series...God it was bad.
2. Fantastic Four (the first one) was ok. I only made it through about 40 minutes of the second one until I fell asleep from boredom. Never tried to finish it after that.

The Tomb Raider news caused me to bump this because this whole reboot business is getting ridiculous. Everything is being rebooted now and some things twice in a row. People just need to start making up new shit. If you can reboot something you can make something new. All you're doing is putting old characters or ideas into something with a new spin. When did it become wrong to be inspired by something else?
FUCK NAME RECOGNITION!

Tomb Raider news?
-
I agree with the rant, but I still don't mind an open world Tomb Raider. Though I wouldn't mind a new IP of "run around some ruins and climb on shit" either.
-
I see the news now, heh.
I agree with the rant in general too, though I can't say I really give a shit about what they do with Tomb Raider, mostly because even if they make it open-world and change the gameplay, it's still probably going to suck ass.
-
I liked the Crystal Dynamics take on the TR series. The best, in my opinion, is TR Anniversary though TR Underworld is a close second. My guess is CD had an idea for a new IP but it was rejected and they had to work with the TR brand.
I think the wierdest reboot is the Hulk. I do agree that the 2008 film is better than the 2003 one but I didn't understand why a reboot so soon?
I was glad that it wasn't the origin story all over again, they just sorta jumped through it in the intro with the general assumption that everyone is reasonably aware of who the Hulk is.

I have no problem with an open-world Tomb Raider -- actually, I'm all for that -- but this rebooting the storyline crap has got to go. It's being done way too much, of late. Just make TR9 an open-world sequel to the TR: Underworld story.
And why the hell is Mechwarrior being rebooted? Granted, I ain't played MW4 and all, so I don't know how the storyline winds up and all, after all was said and done there -- but can't the next MW be a goddamn sequel or prequel? I am glad to see another Mechwarrior game coming -- but does it have to be a reboot?
Oh, I didn't see the Hulk 2003 -- but I did like the Hulk 2008 version with Edward Norton.
Fantastic 4 doesn't need a reboot. It needs NEW, much better writers. I still don't understand why anybody in their mind would cast Jessica Alba as The Invisible Woman. :o Hello, I want to see her visible at ALL TIMES! :-*

I didn't mind Alba as Susan Storm, then that's mainly because I actually like her (I know this statement flies in the face of OW public opinion). In my mind though, I always envision Susan Storm played by Elisabeth Shue. She looks like the original comic book character to me.
Mechwarrior getting a reboot is not so bad. It actually makes sense, it's due time.
To me, a reboot should be based around the the average age of the target demographic and how badly f**ked something is that it desperately needs a total reboot.
