Info and links (http://utforums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=678286)
I just wanted to bitch. Its mostly code changes, but its 330MB. What gives? Oh, it contains all the updates from all the previous patches. No simple "update from previous version" patch. Why the hell do they do that? Now I have to download this huge fucking thing for only minor changes.
This has been another episode of "Dialup Frustrations". Join us next week when...fuck, ANOTHER PATCH?!

I would complain about this too
you know
if it were 1998
:P
-
It wouldn't be so bad if I could find some direct download mirrors so I could easily resume. Every download site has those links that time out which makes getting these things a pain in the ass.
-
Yea 330 is nuts for minor changes. We are taxing the internet because are too lazy.
-
I wish they would at the very least employ BitTorrent. It eases the load on their servers and it allows us to download more comfortably.

Does Steam autopatch your games if you leave it open? I haven't run UT3 in weeks but I ran it when I saw this and it didn't try to patch. (I didn't try to go online though)
Also, damn this game is shiny. I like shine and reflection and bloom and shit, but damn.
-
Steam autopatches unless you instruct it otherwise.
I know man, everything in Unreal Engine 3 onwards is a shine and bumpmapping extravaganza!
-
Its unfortunate that a lot of games dont use these effects in more subtle ways. I was amazed looking at LittleBigPlanet where things looked like they should. Fabric and wood that wasn't shiny, imagine that.

Gears 2 doesn't go as overboard as UT3, but yea it is a little overdone. Part of what I was seeing in UT3 was the map I was playing on. It was a space station with lots of electronic stuff all over, so it had lots of shiny stuff.
