GameSpot has a new article up about DRM.
GameSpot's The DRM Dilemma Article

Part 2 - Added May 28th, 2009 (http://www.gamespot.com/features/6209660/p-4.html)

I started reading it the other day, then got bored, knowing that I'd just get info on what DRM is. From the intro and the first little bit, I gathered anythign I was really that interested in would be in part 2. So I gues I'll read it all when part 2 is out, probably mostly skimming part 1.
Though now that you've posted it here, I don't have to dig it up when that time comes. ;D

That's the most uncompelling title for an article ever. It makes it sound like commentary that was relevant 5 years ago. The topic is still ongoing, but we already know what the fucking dilemma is. What we need is a solution. And guess what? Steam isn't it.

Well at least it's somewhat nice to see that EA and Ubisoft seem to have gotten the message. I did not know that they were backing down in terms of DRM severity.

Unfortunately EA isn't removing DRM from existing titles though. I read last week that Crysis Warhead, even in the new Crysis Maximum Edition (which came out may 5th?) still has DRM, including limited installs. Apparently the steam version has the limited installs too.
