Ugh (http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/59255)
Nothing about it reminds me of Max Payne. It could be any action game released this generation.
-
What the FUCK is that?
edit:
My favorite comment:
MORE LIKE EL MAXO PAYNO LOL
Seriously, that doesn't even look like Payne.
-
This looks like the Diablo 3 complaint revisited.
The graphics look really good and whatnot -- but, they're too bright and too shiny for a Max Payne game. Especially given how the last two were, which were mostly at night-time and had really dark colors to them.
This shot is the ONLY shot that looks Max Payne-esque to me

No D, Diablo 3 just has a slight palette problem... this.... this... looks nothing like noir!
You know you've got a problem when that horrible Max Payne movie looked more like Max Payne, than Max Payne 3 does.
-
Oh, also -- how come Max Payne looks like the new Sam Fisher? :o

Max 3 doesn't look like noir at all -- agreed.

The Max Payne movie was WAY too slow on the action, if you ask me. Took too long to get going. That was my biggest complaint with it -- which is a big complaint, since the movie wasn't even that good.
-
And he looks like the old new Sam. They changed Sam back to his more classic look, after negative reactions 2 years ago.
-
It's a shame. If he's supposed to be old, bitter, and going no where it would be even better to keep him locked up in New York.
Another one bites the dust I suppose. It's too bad it had to be something I loved.
-
Wow. That looks like absolute shit. I wasn't even the biggest fan of the first two, though I did enjoy them both, but... man. That looks like shit. I wouldn't even consider buying that.
-
I'm hoping that this is just a marketing department not knowing what they're doing and making a bad choice for the first set of screenshots.
It's being made by Rockstar, they usually know what they're doing. This could be good.
Those screenshots alone give nothing to look forward to though.

The setting is all wrong. I mean, the game could rock but there's nothing Max Payne about anything there. The setting is wrong and the dude is wrong. Say what you want, but that game isn't Max Payne in any capacity. Even if you got the setting right, it'd still be wrong. I'm pretty sure we're all fucking sick of the whole "Hey, let's take this game and make it all teen angst!" routine, and this smacks of that to the utmost.
-
I think they are preparing for the movie with Vin Diesel.

Wait, there's a mo-
...
/me goes back to tabletop gaming.

You know, in some regards (the look, the locales, bullet-time), Max 3 reminds me of some other game that already used the Max Payne 2 Engine... (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=39460&mode=thread&order=0)

What. The. Fuck.

If y'all didn't see this post (http://www.overwritten.net/forum/index.php?topic=4293.msg70336#msg70336) AND also this following post (http://www.overwritten.net/forum/index.php?topic=4293.msg70480#msg70480) that mentions some of the Max 3 details...
...I'm just hoping with the new cover system, it don't become too GoW-like.

This game can kiss my white ass.

Uh, why the fuck is this game in the tropics?

Uh, why the fuck is this game in the tropics?
As stated here... (http://www.overwritten.net/forum/index.php?topic=4293.msg70480#msg70480)
* Max Payne 3 is set 12 years after the events of Max Payne 2.
* Max is a broken man, and now works in private security for a wealthy family. He moved to Sao Paulo, Brazil to escape the demons of New York.

Uh, why the fuck is this game in the tropics?
More to the point, why the fuck is every other fps set in the tropics?
Answer: brainless retards with no sense of taste ejaculate to games with big guns set in the tropics.

People like to bite off....was it Far Cry really the first big FPS to strike it big (critically and sales-wise) in such a setting??

The shots are a turn off, especially how closely they resemble El Matador (terrible, terrible game).
It's still too early to judge but I hope they bring back the "noir."
