そうですねえ。

I didn't even know the board supported Japanese characters. It's not in UTF-8 mode.

بحق الجحيم ما الذي تتحدث عنه؟
-
Indeed it does. And as per current IRC discussion, Belmont can now read them even though he has no idea what they say.
بحق الجحيم ما الذي تتحدث عنه؟
Haha, you win. 私はぜんぜんわかりませんでした。

"The point of view Eye bastards"?
"slant eyed" is apparently a loose translation

This laptop I'm on doesn't support that character set at all. I get nothing but squares with 2-digit hex pairs in them. (I'm assuming that's the 2-byte code for each.) The arabic characters are supported, though. I'm sure it's just a font issue. I got my PC at home to support all this, but that was before the hard-drive crash. It probably doesn't now.
-
Vista seems to support everything by default, though with XP you might need to install the East Asian character set. Though I don't know why... my computer here downstairs is XP and doesn't have them installed, but I see them fine. Though I haven't been able to set up the ability to type with them yet. =T Was a bitch to find how to do it in Vista, too, for as easy a thing as it ended up being.

Haha that literally translates to "point of view of trashy eyes"
The last word "awbash" means trashy, vagabonds, just real unsavoury characters.
Idol's translates perfectly ;D hehe

Does that read left to right or right to left? Just curious. Typically the latter, correct?
-
Opposite of English.
-
Yeah, I knew that was the case in general, but I wondered if it might go the English way on some computer readouts. I guess language rules are pretty well covered on PCs by now.
Problem solved (http://newton.uor.edu/Departments&Programs/AsianStudiesDept/Language/asianlanguageinstallation_XP.html), at home anyway. Will handle laptops at Sandy's later. I only installed display support, though. I have no interest in being able to write characters I don't understand.

Thanks for the link. I need to find the files online, though. Don't have an xp cd.
-
You can't. I've researched this rather extensively. Basically you can find a disk, or you can give up.
-
or you can give up.
NEVAR
...ok i give up. I actually have a cd in the depths of my closet somewhere but I'd rather not find out what else I have in there.
-
That's my problem too. Vista supports the stuff naturally, but XP isn't so happy.
