Good movie. I saw it with my friend whos a history education major and hes read tons of stuff about the battle of Iwo Jima and even read the book that the movie is based on. He said it stayed pretty true to the book and they even got the look of Iwo Jima down really really good. They showed actual still photos of Iwo Jima during the battle and it looks damn near identical to the movie. So its a good WWII flick on the pacific theatre of a particular battle and issue where which the media fudges things up surrounding that battle. Aside from some cliche war themes it occasionally dips into, its a pretty good Eastwood movie.

Yeah, I heard it's pretty good. Apparently Eastwood is going to tell the Japanese side of the story with Letters From Iwo Jima next year.
-
Yeah I wanna see it. Though I think I'm more excited about the Japanese one... how interesting is to see that side, which we Americans never get many films on? Especially by Eastwood.

Eastwood has been cranking out the good flicks lately.

Yeah.
Blood Work was pretty good.
Mystic River was excellent.
And I'm sure everyone knows how great Million Dollar Baby was.
I ain't seen this movie yet, actually...

I feel Mystic River is highly overrated. I just didn't really like it.
Million Dollar Baby was a really good movie though.
I want to see Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima.

Million Dollar Baby was a pretentious piece of garbage.
-
Blaspheme. I love that movie.

I didn't see it, but it looked terrible to me. Haven't seen too much of Eastwood's stuff, actually. Really wanted to see Mystic River but never got to.
