"Buy a PS3, $30 off! Buy today! (9/12/09)"
Wow, ok! Lemme just do fill out this form....ok! Send me my fun!
"Your fun will arrive 9/16/09! PREPARE FOR THE FUN!"
*glee!*
"Oh man, we had SO MUCH FUN to send that your order has been delayed. Two weeks. You should get it on the 30th."
Gah, you bastards. Well...I am saving $30 still. I've waited this long for a PS3, whats another two weeks?
*Two Weeks Pass*
"Oh hey, we still totally want you to have fun but...well, fun is in short supply. Hows October 21st sound? You know, more than a month after you placed your order. The order where you got 2 day shipping. Anyway, if thats cool let us know or we'll just cancel your order. Thanks for letting us jerk you around."
Assholes.

Pricks.
-
Why didn't you just get a major retailer to price match?
-
Don't they only do price matches for other in store deals? So if Best Buy was selling it for cheaper than Office Depot, then you could get them to price match the Best Buy price, but I don't think they accept online deals.
Anyway, I've been waiting one month for my posters to come in from Amazon. Awesome!

I would definitely cancel that order. But what does Dell have to do with anything? They sell PS3s now?
-
I know Future Shop (owned by Best Buy in Canada) honors any deals within Canada, as long as they account for shipping if applicable.
-
Generally most stores won't match online prices. I've never heard of a single store that would.
But yes, Dell sucks. I don't know why they're selling PS3s, but they probably have trouble shipping them because all of their staff is in India. Just a guess.
-
Well, the order will auto-cancel tomorrow. I went out today and just bought the thing.
-
Yay for new toys.

Man, I thought I was done with this.
Sept 28th email:
Your order has been delayed again and we need your permission today to continue processing your order or it will be automatically canceled (as required by the Federal Trade Commission).
How to avoid cancelation of your order:
Contact us today to let us know that you still want us to ship this order, though it will arrive later than expected (see the Revised Estimated Delivery Date below)
Simply send an email today to US_Dell_Notify@dell.com stating that you are giving us permission to continue processing this order.
Please include the order number (shown below) in your e-mail.
If you are not online please try dialing 1-877-868-3355 and we will answer your call as quickly as we can. Dell agents are available daily 8am to 9pm CST.
If we do not receive permission the order will automatically be canceled within 24 hours.
I also got an automated phone call from Dell stating the same thing. The revised delivery date was Oct 21st. I was sick of waiting, so I did not contact Dell in any way and wanted the order to automatically cancel. I assumed that the order canceled on the 29th.
Guess what showed up at my door today? A package from Dell. gah...

Haha congrats! ;D

So you're the proud owner of 2 PS3s. Haha! Multiplayer mayhem at idol's.

Well I called, got bounced around to 3 different departments, but I eventually got a return shipping label emailed to me. They did offer me another $25 off if I kept the thing. I said "No" but thought about it afterwards. I could have taken that one and returned it to Walmart, got my money from them and then had an even cheaper PS3! But Walmart scanned the serial number of the machine I bought so its not going to happen. Oh well, it was an idea.
So back it goes. They better refund the full amount since this was their error. None of this 15% restocking fee BS.
And I will never order from Dell again.
