I count 53 tracks in the unofficial release from 2 years ago. Love that music. I'm really surprised they didn't do this back when it would have generated more interest (because of the new game then). No legal issues either, I don't think. It's all in-house music.

No idea what took so long. Alec has been talking about it for forever now, and supposedly even had a prototype and stuff. Though I think he was going to get the voice actress girl to sing some new tunes, and thus put it off for a while... but I dunno'. They were talking about trying to do a retail release of the game too and never did anything with that idea either.
Still, glad to hear it's coming!

Isn't it just a few people working on this? I can see how that would take awhile.
I'm not a huge fan of soundtracks in general but I'm definitely interested in this. The music in Aquaria is one of the things that made it so great.

Yeah, two guys made the game. But all the music except for one track was already done, unless he did some sort of special arranging (but he didn't say anything about it, if so). I imagine the distribution and packaging took a bit, but still... this has been in the works for *forever*.

I'm just glad the package is so beautiful. I know Alec worked hard on the music and put a lot of himself into it... it deserved to be enshrined nicely. If that's really what took extra time, then it was worth it.
