But potentially cool (http://www.gametrailers.com/video/japanese-overview-resonance-of/59067). Looks a bit too much like it wants to be hip, but some of the animations are fun and the environmental art at times looks really great. And I'm a sucker for shit like floating cities, or city towers, or space cities, or cities built into mountainsides... you know, so that part looks cool too. I'll reserve judgment on the rest of it until I see something more substantial. But if the story is good, there could be potential.

Yeah, that does look pretty badass. Tri-ace though? Didn't they do Star Ocean 3? You know with the retarded ending I read about? THE WORST ENDING I'VE EVER HEARD OF.

I know they did 4, that's all I really know. Which supposedly had a crappy story but a great battle system and stuff. I don't know since I don't really give a shit about Star Ocean.

picked this up on the cheap today. i'm only a couple of hours in, but so far, so good. the battle system is extremely fun (and quite challenging) - it might be a bit early to say, but it's probably my favourite jrpg system yet. takes the best part of an hour to go through the tutorial, but totally worth it.
i haven't encountered much of a story yet, but the world atmosphere is great.
so, anybody else pick it up?

I really should get this now that I've gotten through some of my backlog of games. I've been highly interested in it since I saw the videos of it before it came out. I love Tri-Ace and the battle system seems a little reminiscent of one of their other games, Valkyrie Profile 2, but just much, much faster.

i should also mention that it's hard as nails. the first boss took me about ten attempts to kill!
