Check out the goods the EB is giving away with your pre-order for the next Castlevania game (http://arstechnica.com/journals/thumbs.ars/2006/10/24/5723). Urge to buy... rising... its going through the roof.
-
I am left helpless and numb. And I don't even have a fucking DS. =(
-
I might not get the game right away, but slapping down $5 to get all that stuff seems like a steal in itself.
EDIT
I did that with the Zelda: Wind Waker preorder, when they gave away GC versions of OoT and Majoras Mask. I put down the $5 or 10 and never bought Wind Waker until much much later.
-
Wait... then how did you get the free stuff?
-
I'm not sure about that. From what I understand, the only way to get it is to pre-order it from EBGames or Gamestop online for the full $40.
-
God fucking dammit, I don't have a fucking DS. The DS Castlevania titles are the only ones I haven't played. I want. I guess I could try to get the preorder stuff and then just sell the game back to them or someone else. The Gamestop near me is bad about not getting enough preorder stuff in though. I will sell someone the game cheap if anyone is interested, I just want that stuff.
EDIT: You might know this JacksRag(e), but what can you do if you open the box from the site and the preorder stuff is not in there, because they ran out? Will they usually give you enough advance notice to cancel the order or something?
-
Well I'm weak, I sucked up and bought it online, I'll just sell the game back to Gamestop or to someone that wants it, if I can get at least $20-25 on the game, I'll be happy. I still have till December to cancel it if something comes up.
-
Sweet!
-
Whoa, that's awesome! I want it and I don't even have a DS nor plans to buy one anytime soon!
-
Wait... then how did you get the free stuff?
? They give me the stuff when I drop the money on the preorder. I put $10 down and they gave me the Zelda disc. Its not like they wait till the game is released to give the preorder goodies, at least they don't here.
This one might be different since theres so much stuff. I'll see.
-
I didn't care for the first one but I am going to switch my preorder to that today at lunch.
-
Well, I thought the last DS Castlevania was pretty great so I was already planning on picking this guy up.
The rest of the stuff just feels like a big thank you letter to me since I'm a fan.
-
I'm just mad I don't have a DS. I mean, Julia does, but that doesn't do me much good since I can't take it anywhere. I have all the GBA Castlevanias, but I didn't try the first DS one.
And idol, I've never gotten *anything* up front for a preorder. Not once. Always upon release of the game. When I worked for EB, we never had preorder specials until much later, toward when the game came out. Then we gave them out when people came to pick up their orders.
-
Huh, interesting. Must be a regional type thing. I just remembered I did the same exact thing to get Pac-Man Vs. for the GC when it was a preorder bonus.
Sometimes when I'm in EB and they ask "Would you like to preorder anything?" I always ask what has the coolest bonuses.
-
Maybe they just trust you folks more around there.
I sorta remember when I ordered Zelda:tWW with the special disk online they had some sort of agreement that you couldn't cancel the order after they shipped Ocarina to you (which was shipped beforehand because it was such a big deal), you could only exhange the game for a replacement if it was broken or something. It's been a while, but I could almost swear there was some sort of special agreement in the deal.

Why don't you just download the game? You'll still need a DS and some additional hardware though.
