Wait, so Intel is going to be putting a GPU in its CPU now? Is it going to be any good at all? All of their past GPU solutions were total crap. Does this mean you'll need an AMD chip to play the most technologically complex games?
That article made me feel like I am way out of the loop on desktop gaming technology.

That makes sense for proprietary devices; like PDAs, smartphones, handheld gaming devices, and casual consumer laptops. Basically things you don't upgrade.
PC enthusiasts, on the other hand, want to be able to swap out individual components if they feel they've run their course or they just want a newer part.
