I like #3, it makes sense.

After that I stopped clicking. If sites want me to read all of them let me scroll or at least put 5 or 6 on one page.

Yea I stopped reading after page 4 or something...

It is something you see with more main stream sights that are led by people who used to lead magazines and stuff. It is very very irritating. I am sure it is because each page clicked gives them an ad revenue bonus... but again, it is something you see with mainstream sites.
