How would you rate the moderators on Overwritten?

I'm afraid they might mod one of my posts.

We have mods?

Just in case any mods want to use their powers to usurp the cause of this thread, I cite article 4, section 6 of the Overwritten declaration:

"Yea, for he who shalt alter the thread without just cause shall be justly slapped with a trout, and thus we rejoice."

My vote lies with the non-listed ham option.

Given the lack of universal condemnation, I can only assume that everyone is happy.

But, at the very least, I'm glad the people hate Nickleback. They suck so bad. In fact, my strategy for defeating terrorists is to blast Nickleback loudly and wait for the bastards to give up out of sheer agony.

You know where the name "Nickleback" came from?  Even that pisses me off.

Where did it come from?

Where'd it come from?
Did they returns lots of bottles to bottling recycling plants or something?

According to wikipedia:
Quote
Its name originates from the nickel in change that band member Mike Kroeger gave customers at his Starbucks job, he would frequently say, "Here's your nickel back."
See, I was going to guess it only cost a nickle to get his mom on her back.

BURN!

All of you people spell nickel incorrectly, including the few Canadians that we do have.  You people are terrible.

Here, I'll be the unpopular person:  What is so bad about Nickelback?  They are certainly generic, but there are far worse bands.  Like The White Stripes, Sum 41, All American Rejects, or every metal band ever.

In the spirit of all that is American, we should argue this point indefinitely, realizing that neither party will change their views.

I vehemently disagree that we should argue about this.  Arguing points that each party is steadfast on is a waste of time.  How can you not understand that?  That said, I simply don't understand how it isn't painfully obvious how terrible The White Stripes are.

The White Stripes represent The United States of America. Are you saying that you hate America?

It is unnecessary to italicize band names.  Just FYI.

It's funny how I pronounce things differently in my head when they are italicized. For instance:

Fuck you

Fuck you

The second one is more drawn out. So, lets say: I want some waffles -- sounds like: I want some waaaaaafles.

Mostly I'm trying to point out that "waffles" should always be italicized.

To me it is more like I want some waffles NOW!

The White Stripes represent only one fourth of America.  Have you forgotten the red stripes, blue block, and white stars already?  I can live without one fourth of America.  What, are you some tree hugger that loves everybody?

Its okay to have a bad taste for music.
Yeah, as a metal fan, you would know.   :-[

It is unnecessary to italicize band names.  Just FYI.

The way I was taught in college was to italicize the titles of long works, such as novels, and use quotation marks on the titles of short works, like short stories.  So for my teachers to like me, I would have to write "The Tell-Tale Heart" and The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket when submitting a paper about Poe.  Of course, now the internet has everything you could ever want to know about anything.  No exception here. (http://englishplus.com/grammar/00000112.htm)

More to the point, I have no clue about Nickleback or the noises they record.  If I've heard them, I didn't know it.  The moderation here, er, is there any?  I know Ant didn't like us linking torrent sites.

I guess my point is that the community is so good that we don't really need any moderation.

But if TheGreyKing ever shows up again, he will be banned (after we make fun of him, of course).

Rules of moderation: don't fuck with the moderators and you'll be okay.  But idol's got a mean temper... so bribes help.

He may seem harmless, until he pulls out his gun with "BAD MOTHERFUCKER" etched into the side of it.

Sorry for the necro-bump, but this was too funny to not share. Dude coming up with D&D monsters:

Quote
The Nickelback: The four headed minor deity has no direct attack and does no damage.  It incorporates itself into dungeons by melding with the physical structure of rock or metal and then vibrates for 3 minute intervals creating “Songs”.  It should be noted that it is not actually composed of rock or metal.  Every 3 minutes there is a 2 second pause and then the Nickelback creates a new “song” which sounds exactly like every other “song” it’s ever created. Can drive dungeon inhabitants into a frenzy of rage and pain, causing even docile cretures to attack the party on site.
"It should be noted that it is not actually composed of rock or metal." had me rolling.
