I should really move my quicklaunch button for photoshop away from the one for firefox. Every now and again I miss and have to wait 15 seconds for photoshop to load before I can close it.
-
I've never used the quick launch toolbar. I use either the desktop or the start menu. I tend to have a bunch of crap open at the same time, so it's nice to have the extra taskbar space.

I use the quick launch quite a bit for things I open and close a lot, like Firefox and Windows explorer. I don't like to keep a lot open at once. That drives me nuts. If I don't need it open, I close it. But yeah, I hate that with photoshop. I find myself doing that when I want a picture to open in something else and forget that it's tied to PS for whatever reason.

Windows key + E is your friend. Same with Windows key + M.

... I don't know what those do. Am I stupid?
Warning: answer "no" or perish.

I use the quicklaunch because it cleans up my desktop
-
I use it so I don't have to minimize to open a new window.
-
I don't keep my taskbar on top, so I have to bring it to the top by hitting the windows key. Solves the minimizing problem nicely. It's just my desktop gets dirty fast with downloaded stuff so I don't like to keep icons other than folders on it.
-
I used to have Steam next to my Firefox button on quicklaunch and it was a pain. Now it's just the desktop button beside Firefox.

If you are, then so am I. I see the Windows key as a useless annoyance, pulling me out of whatever fullscreen app I may be in when I hit it by mistake. If I weren't so lazy, I'd have looked into disabling it long ago.

Windows key + E = Open Windows Explorer
Windows key + M (or + D) = Minimize all open windows and show desktop
Windows key + R = Run dialog box
Windows key + L = Log off
Windows key + Break = System properties
I used to think it was useless, but I use it all the time now. It's far more useful than the Alt key.

See, I've always been like Cobra. Only thing I use it is to bring the taskbar back to the front of the screen. I had no idea it did shortcuts like that. Learn something new every day.
