Title: Lots of JRPGs in the next few months...
Post by: iPPi on Tuesday, February 02, 2010, 11:00:27 PM: I don't know much about these games, but I can count at least three coming out in the next 3 months.

White Knight Chronicles (PS3) - today (2/2/2010)
Final Fantasy XIII - (3/9/2010)
Resonance of Fate - (May 2010)

That said, I'm not sure if I'm interested in them at all. I'm somewhat interested in FFXIII but I'm not 100% sold on it. I have a pretty bad track record with Final Fantasy games. I've only played 7 and 8, and I haven't finished either one.

White Knight Chronicles seems very much run of the mill JRPG style. It does have some MMO inspired gameplay and coop for side quests as well, which seems to be a somewhat interesting mechanic.

Resonance of Fate just came out in Japan and is still a couple months away... I don't know much about it yet.

Seems like a lackluster story, crappy voice acting, boring and easy combat are the main complaints.

What's good about it?! Is the rest of the gameplay alright at least?

Overall, it seems like a disappointing JRPG. I guess it's a game to skip unless you're a diehard JRPG fan.

Post by: TheOtherBelmont on Wednesday, February 03, 2010, 08:59:54 PM: While this isn't a huge release by any means, Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey is coming out in March for the DS as well for anyone interested in a sci-fi dungeon crawler. It looks pretty neat so far.

I am looking forward to FFXIII and will probably preorder it sometime this month. I could never really get myself interested in White Knight Chronicles, I might rent it at some point to give it a shot but I don't think I'll ever end up getting it. I've seen a few screenshots of Resonance of Fate but haven't looked into it enough to gather any interest.
