Title: Dog names for a German Shepherd

It's a male.  I want something kinda nerdy, but not immediately apparent to most people.  I'm thinking cool-sounding video game character or old Greek/Roman god.  They say you are supposed to keep it to 2ish syllables so the dog doesn't get confused.

I kinda like Ares, but I can't decide if that is stupid-cool or just stupid.

Throw out some ideas !

I always name my dogs in video games Baskervilles... after the book, The Hounds of Baskervilles. You could name him that, or just Basker.

Or you could name him Shepard after Mass Effect, and it would make for an interesting story, since the dog is a German Shepard. :P

Call him Steiger! (German for Climber or Mounter)

Alternatively if you feel cruel call him Schnitzel.
