Title: Anybody know of O&O Defragger?
Post by: PyroMenace on Tuesday, March 02, 2010, 09:27:04 PM
I'm curious since they are offering their Disk Defrag 11 for free if you register it. Right now I'm using IObit Smart Defrag which I read is a good free disk defragger but not as good as ones you would pay for.

Is there really a difference?

Never heard of it.

The only time I would bother with a third-party defragmenter is with something like Diskeeper that does idle-time defragmentation.

I've used O&O Defrag for years! It was pretty sweet and had some great features. The last one I used was v10 nearly a year ago (the one that started to look lik an Office 2007 app). Since I formatted my system back then I just never reinstalled or purchased the new one.

O&O Defrag also has idle defrag and other automatic modes. It's a comprehensive disk defrag solution.

In my experience with O&O's utilities, Defrag is their best (it feels like they put the most work into it).

I use smartdefrag. Very light, and seems to do the job.

Well nevermind, that version of their defrag doesn't run under Windows 7, there's your catch.

Yep, v12 runs on Win7. I just read it on their site.
