Glad they are kind of sticking to the source material. Anyone ever read the comics? they're pretty funny!

New trailer. No else thinks this looks awesome?
-
Sorry, except for Arrested Development, I'm on a Michael Cera ban.
-
I'm on a Quicktime ban.
-
You should all still watch the trailer. It looks pretty awesome. I mean, it even has the street fighter "KO!" in it when Scott knocks a guy out.
-
Scary I've tried to watch it twice.
The first time I tried it told me to install Quicktime, even though I had it already.
Then I uinistalled it, and re downloaded it from the website, and it still tells me download it.
-
From the creators of Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead? Yeah I'm watching this! ;D
That "KO!" sounded like it was from Street Fighter Alpha 3!
-
Well, looks like I had to restart the computer for it to work.
Anyway, it looks pretty cool actually.
Why do they all have "powers"? I am not familiar with the comics.
-
Ahaha! The professional high school dweeb vs the world.
For those of us on Apple diets:

Here ya go. Trailer 2 is better.
The comics are great. They're really funny, and it looks like it's sticking pretty close to the comics.
Basically, Scott meets this girl, Romona Flowers and falls in love with her. But in order to date her, he has to defeat all her ex boyfriends in these video game style fights, complete with save points, power ups and extra lives. It's a really cool comic. I think there are 5 volumes out now, I've read 4 of them. And I think the last one comes out sometime this summer. It's good stuff. Highly recommended. I can't wait for the movie.

Just went and saw it this afternoon.
If you are a fan of video games, music, and comic books, this movie is down right loads of fun. I loved it! I think this and Inception are my two favorite movies this year.
It's funny, witty, really cool to look at, extremely entertaining, crazy, and dead on with the comic. Great movie.

This makes me want to see it even more. (http://www.shamusyoung.com/twentysidedtale/?p=8999)

Haha, that's fucking awesome.
-
The movie is freaking great. And if you haven't read the comics, they're great too. It's something I could watch over and over again. Fantastic!
-
This could probably be its own thread, but since its about this movie I put it here. (http://www.npr.org/blogs/monkeysee/2010/08/12/129150813/-scott-pilgrim-versus-the-unfortunate-tendency-to-review-the-audience?sc=fb&cc=fp)
'Scott Pilgrim' Versus The Unfortunate Tendency To Review The Audience
I know you want to read it.

Wow, that was a really good article. Thanks for posting it, idol. That is crazy that reviewers were so condescending. I've never seen anything like that.

After incessant hounding by one of my friends that I would love the series, I grabbed the movie and game yesterday. I also ordered the books. After being informed that I would understand the movie and game better if I read the books, i "acquired" them until my real copies arrived so I could get started.
I blew through the first two in one sitting. I'm loving it so far.
By the way, Amazon is having INSANE deals on all six volumes of the book. And the game is half price on XBLA this week at 400 points. From what I've read the game is a pretty awesome throwback.
-
It is. I've thoroughly enjoyed it.
-
I just want to skip out on work the rest of the day, go home, and finish reading all the books.
-
As luck would have it, I watched the movie, over 3 nights. I found it clever and funny, but once I got the overall vibe, I pretty much knew what it was going to be for 2 hours. I welcome it, and I'm glad I watched it. I just couldn't do it all at once. It didn't grab my attention enough to forget there were other things I'd rather do after dinner.
-
Well I finished the last 3 books on Sunday (very fast reads, wow). I got around to watching the movie last night. I enjoyed both wholeheartedly. Some things were changed around that I didn't really care for in the movie, and other things were left out that I felt were important, but you can't have everything in a movie.
Soundtrack to the movie was great. I'll probably be grabbing that on vinyl at some point.
-
I'm reading the comics right now -- should finish them over the next week or two and will then watch the movie. Comics are pretty good.
-
Just got through watching this on DVD rental - awesome movie. :)
