Something is off about this dude.

He's got sort of an effeminate thing going on that at first comes across as though he might be gay, but after a while it just sounds condescending. Also, listening to him on the Gamespot podcast, I get the feeling that a lot of times when his opinion is challenged, he questions himself, but sticks to his guns just to stick to his guns. It's like he's defending his opinion but doesn't believe it himself.

Also, I just realized that a lot of the Gamespot video reviews come across as condescending. At least Kevin Vanord and Tom McShea. They also sound like they're talking to small children or dumb soccer moms.

Though on the other hand, Greg Kasavin always had a slight dorkiness to him that made him sound more genuine.

He is gay, actually.

Yeah, I've gotten used to him, but he really pissed me off a number of times over various things.  I don't really care for him, or most of the GSpot writers these days.  Whatever.  Not like I spend any time reading game reviews anymore anyway.

Van Ord is alright as a reviewer. I think he's gotten better, of late.

I still think he gave HIS best review ever when he did the review for Assassin's Creed 2 PC. Kudos to him for doing what most reviewers DIDN'T do for this game - blasting the DRM to no-end and showing off the problems he had w/ it in the video review. It was pretty much his only complaint w/ AC2 PC.

I agree w/ Van Ord's DAO PC (original game) review. I haven't played DAO - Awakening, but eventually when I do, I just have a funny feeling I might agree w/ Van Ord's review - I doubt Awakening will be as great as DAO, even though it'll probably still be good.

Kasavin and Ocampo - I can almost always count on them for pretty good reviews.

Kasavin's Doom 3 review is probably the only review of Kasavin's that I really didn't care for. He over-scored the game, despite his truckload of complaints.

I've got to be honest, I really don't pay much attention to reviews anymore. I'll sometimes skim text review on GiantBomb, but otherwise I stick to video reviews. Even then I'm looking for information, not opinion. I've seen some pretty negative reviews that have swayed me towards buying a game, because I'm just looking for information on what it does and doesn't have/do, and some gameplay footage. How long is it? Is it buggy? etc.
