Title: WHO WOULD LIKE TO PURCHASE A COPY OF BATTLEFIELD BAD COMPANY 2
Post by: gpw11 on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, 02:34:44 PM
A few of us are planning on splitting a four pack.  At this point we need one more person.   Do we have any interested parties here on Overwritten?  I believe the price would come to $33.....  I think.

It's over Steam and not as cheap as the EA deal, but seems like it is about 10X less of a bitch to deal with than EA's Online service.

I think it comes to about $38?

Come on D... you know you want in.

edit:
149.97 for the four pack.

I'm being generous and putting in a little bit more, so its not going to be as expensive for the other 3.

Nah, no need. I got my portion covered.

Thanks for taking care of all of this. I can't wait to start.

Also got a high end DSL connection so maybe I'll be able to play with you guys... we'll have to see.

For y'all that deal w/ Steam version of this...
...do you guys have to activate through Securom and have a 5 install limit?

B/c, it says you do on the Steam page.
Doesn't mean it did or didn't get pulled, though...

Oooh, thanks. Good to know. :)
Steam versions should only have to deal w/ Steamworks DRM anyways, if you ask me.

Wow that's bad.  How could they miss leaving SecuROM protection on in the Steam version?  I mean there is no damn disc to check!  It's good that they are patching it quickly but come on.

Internet versions wouldn't need disc check - they would just use the Securom Internet DRM Check, if they went w/ Securom. It's what 2K uses for all the Borderlands DLC (that has yet to be released on disc).

BF:BC2 PC retail version gives you the option of selecting....
1.Securom disc check every time you boot up or
2.Securom Internet Check w/ required online activation; no disc checks; and 5 install limits w/ revokes.

Long enough to get my ass kicked a lot.  It's great when you're on a streak though.

Yea, that's probably the main appeal to keep playing because those streaks feel so damn good. Had one where I was defending a point where I was taking down incoming after incoming, even nailed a dude coming in on a ATV with an RPG, so awesome.
