The two-year international study of Islamic radicals said terrorism could be defeated by making it boring.

Haha yeah that's the issue, terrorism is just too exciting to pass up! ;D Nothin' beats the cool crime of terrorism!

And why the fuck is "terrorism" synonymous with Islamic radicals alone? If they're going to target Islamic radicals specifically then they need to use specific language. "Terrorism" could just as easily refer to gang activity, protection racketeering, and even corporate assaults on native peoples and wildlife reserves.

But yes, otherwise it's a valid study and a good start at eliminating the ignorance.

Well, because in recent time, a lot of lives have been taken in the name of Islam. Gang activity, racketeering etc are just not "terrorizing" enough.

It found violent radicals had a poor understanding of Islam, compared with non-violent radical follower

Yea pretty much. I'd say poverty is one of the root causes of terrorism. You could point to a few other things, but they are mostly symptoms of poverty.

This boy is Ignorance. This girl is Want. Beware them both, and all of their degree, but most of all beware this boy, for on his brow I see that written which is Doom, unless the writing be erased.

Gangs and racketeers are in a different class.  They don't seek the general destruction of Western society or secular governments.  In fact, they depend on them.

Islamic terrorism will only end from within the Islamic community, if ever.  In the meantime, all the civilized world can do is keep its foot on the throat of this insidious enemy.  What this article proposes is akin to pushing abstinence in high schools.  It has no hope of succeeding.

Yeah, this.

Also, if they want to make kids stay away from them, all they have to do is make them look like a giant gay sex club.

There can't be gay Asians because that would indicate that they are somehow atypical. For them, I think they're more inclined to point out straights.
