Also, interesting info from Twitter (http://twitter.com/marvelvscapcom/status/12523544033): The character art you see around teh interwebs is NOT key art. Those are in-game character models! SUPRISE!

Haha I hope it was intentional from Capcom :P

And here's some gameplay (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jj1_By1c39A)
It definitely looks chaotic.
-
That was dope! I'm excited!

That looks pretty fun.

That's enough to make me want to buy it right there.
-
Well, if that isn't completely and totally awesome I don't know what is.
-
Idol had me at "Its official!"
-
So I got this today for the 360, and my brother and I lost 3 hours. Were having so much fun, I bet the neighbors were wondering what the heck was happening.
-
I'm going to wait for a review. I almost have to buy it for PS3 by default, as I actually have good sticks for that platform. But man SSFIV has so many connection issues on PS3. I want to see how that pans out before I make a decision.
-
In terms of gameplay this is nothing like SF4. That isn't in response to what you said, but what I found after playing today.
I had played a MvC game many years ago, but I had completely forgotten that it didn't control like SF.
I'd describe this as basically fighter porn.
-
It's definitely ridiculous over-the-topness.
I've been playing Tatsunoko VS Capcom a good bit, and it's equally as fun.

So, as this game is just about to come out I find it amazing that people are still complaining about how there are "only" 30 something characters compared to MvC2's 50 something. One, 30 something is a shitload of characters in a fighting game. Second, does no one realize that MvC2 only had that many characters because Capcom just started pulling sprites from a dozen different games that spanned something like a decade of time? You can't exactly give them full credit for putting all those characters into the last game. Third, it's probably generally harder to develop, model, and animate a 3D character for a modern game than it is to put together a set of sprites for a fighting game that worked off of 90's game resolutions. Even the biggest were probably only a 100x100 pixels at a given time.
Anyway, I ordered the game a while back and it seems I somehow got release date delivery although I didn't pay for or request it. FedEx says I should expect the delivery tomorrow... now if I wasn't so busy with stuff right now.
-
I'm sort of considering getting this, maybe not right away though. People complaining about the number of characters are tools, these are probably the same people that complained about BlazBlue's roster not being ridiculous too. Sy, if you pre-ordered it on Amazon, then they do free (or 99 cents, I can't remember) release date delivery now by default on all pre-orders for games, that's how I've got several of my last game purchases.
-
Amazon has done that for me once or twice, but usually not. Generally I order with the free super saver shipping and just get the game a few days after the release date.

Looking into it a little further, it seems that it is only on select games and it is 99 cents. I guess I've just gotten lucky with my last several purchases and gotten this. Also, let me know how the game is, I'm curious on your opinion on it.

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 announced (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=148712)
So if Capcom is teaching us anything, its never buy the first edition of their fighting games.
-
Not a new thing though. There were 8 billion releases of SF3

haha yea...

You'd think they'd release these as updates to the games or at least as DLC for a low price.
They kinda did that with the SSFIV Arcade Edition, making it a $20 downloadable upgrade only for SSFIV, if you had vanilla SFIV you were screwed.
