The Ship is the sequel to a HL1 mod by the same name, though this ones on Source and costs money. Remember that Bystander mod that looked cool? This is kinda sorta like that. Everyone is on a ship and given someone to kill. You get bonus points if you kill them with a specific weapon (which you find somewhere on the ship). You must do this without witnesses, either other players, NPCs, or security cams. Also, you have needs like food and going to the bathroom you need to take care of. To top it off...someone is trying to kill you, too.

Anyway, this weekend you can download it via Steam for free and play it. I was waiting for this to happen...and I'm going to be out of town this weekend. Fucking hell.

What the fuck is with mods you pay for all of a sudden?  I mean, if it's cheap enough and high enough in quality I could be tempted, but this would have been unacceptable a few years ago.

I know what you mean. Some mods are very high quality and I'm ok with them going retail. Red Orchestra for one, and Natural Selection. This though still seems very "mod-ish" to me. And what the fuck is with charging for new Garys Mod? Its like...not even a real game.
