MyD's Message - 1-11-2011:
I had this thread once for Sega Week on Steam - but, I'm gonna dedicate it to something else.
Sega's been releasing here and there some of their Classic games - especially from Genesis era - on here. I'm gonna turn this thread into Sega Classics thread.
I have fond memories of some of their Classic games - such as Shining Force series, Phantasy Star series, Shinobi series, Street of Rage series, some of the older Sonic games, etc - so I think this is a good place to talk about this old stuff.

That's wheyat thcoool and all, but what they need to start doing is finding a way to re-release some of their Saturn and DC games that peoplr missed and want to play.

I'd like to see say Nights and Skies of Arcadia come here...
EDIT:
Oh, and both Shenmue games...

Oh wow, had no idea the typing was so off in that post. Fucked up the screen on my phone, probably have to double check everything I type now until I get it fixed.

Hey, nobody's perfect...we got the gist of what cha meant and all... ;)

“It’s exciting to be able to offer these classic games to a new audience” said Nick Pili, Network Business Director at SEGA Europe
Correction:
“It’s exciting to still be able to offer make money from these classic games to a new audience”
As cool as it is to get these titles "officially" I would have been impressed and interested if they were "HD" renditions of the classics, kinda like Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix. Since I own most of the original cartridges anyway it's perfectly legal for me to use ROMs on emulators, which function just as well if not better, and offer me full control of graphics and controller options.

Here's the new batch:
* Alien Soldier - $2.99
* Gunstar Heroes - $2.99
* Landstalker: The Treasures of King Nole - $2.99
* Light Crusader - $2.99
* Shining in the Darkness - $2.99
* Shining Force - $2.99
* Shining Force II - $2.99
* Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - $4.99
* Sonic 3 & Knuckles - $4.99
* Street of Rage - $2.99
* Street of Rage 2 - $2.99
* ToeJam & Earl - $4.99
* ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron - $4.99
* Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair - $2.99

BOOOOORING. Well, it's good to see them branching out to some games other than the ones that they've re-released 12 times already. I remember both Light Crusader and Landstalker fondly from right when I started playing games (admittedly, years after they came out).
But come on, if they want to make some dollars, they need to either re-release all three scenarios from Shining Force 3 or remake the game.

Sounds like some great ideas to me.

I find that you fucked up your screen more interesting than this entire thread. What'd you do?
-
Oh, this was my old Omnia. I can't remember how exactly I did it, but it ended with some gouges in the plastic over it's resistive touch screen.....which fucked with the sensitivity and also totally threw swipe off somehow. Actually, changing the screen and digitizer is part of what lead to the death of that phone.
That said, I've also fucked the screen up a bit on my Android Milestone. I might post a picture of that in the other thread.

While the first batch of DC games ain't great, maybe we can get some other ones here - i.e. Skies of Arcadia and Shenmue series.

I don't get why Sega keeps futzing around with these collections and remakes when they're completely ignoring the stuff everyone really wants in lue of a bunch of medicore or poorly aged shit. Namely, the Jet Grind games, Shenmue, and (for the love of all things holy and blessed) the Panzer Dragoon series. At least Space Channel 5 is in there, but why only the sequel?

Oh, I forgot about Panzer Dragoon series.
They definitely should bring those over.
I ain't played many - hell, if any - of the DreamCast games.

Not sure about the others but there were already pc versions of both Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi. I imagine this is kind of hastily thrown together to test the market, and if everything goes well we may see some of the more desirable games come out...especially the JGR games.
Or at least I hope so. Sega makes retarded decisions and has broken my heart over and over again.
