Impulse (http://www.impulsedriven.com/gunsoficarus)
I guess there is a web-based version here (http://musegames.com/games/guns-of-icarus)...but I can't confirm since you know how it is when I have to download stuff.
Anyway, this game sounds pretty cool. You are the captain of an airship that has to deliver its cargo. You plot a route and the ship drives itself. Your job is to defend the ship from all the air pirates that want your sweet sweet loot. In a 3rd person over the shoulder view you run around your ship to various mounted guns to blast the buggers out of the sky, or to different parts of the ship that might be damaged and need repairs.
And you can do this with up to 4 players in co-op. For $10, I just might have to try this.

Gamespot hated it. (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/gunsoficarus/review.html)

Damn, thats too bad. It sounded pretty cool, and probably still could be with 4 players. But no in-game chat? If they just mean VOIP fine, whatever, but no text chat?
I was kind of hoping for something that would be like Air Buccaneers, the UT2004 mod. Damn that game was fun.

I do like the concept. Air Buccaneers? Never did see that. I'm sure I could run UT tech from 2004 too.

Getting it to run is easy, finding other players is the challenge.
There isn't any particular goal in AirBucs other than Team Deathmatch, but it all takes place on airships. Someone pilots, other people man the guns. The guns make use of more than one player since they need to be manually reloaded and aimed. You can do this by yourself but its hard.
But yeah, its fun. You can leap onto an enemy ship and kill everyone on board and take it over. Totally fun.

Boy, Idol you really do love pirate stuff...

Well, yeah. But this is in the air.
