Haha! Well, I think you may lack perspective. Tron is 28 years old. Who here was old enough to appreciate it (or not) in 1982? The movie was revolutionary then. Yeah, OK, getting scanned into a videogame world populated by dramatic actors is not exactly realistic. It's also Walt Disney and all that entails. The eye opener was the CGI visualization of a videogame world populated by glowy humans. Now you can't even watch commercials without running into CGI, but then, it was more significant than Avatar's visual technology is today.

Before then, the last time I had watched was in 1986! I was 5! Finding stuff like that from my past helps trigger old hidden memories and sensations.

Post by: scottws on Tuesday, June 08, 2010, 08:20:48 PM: The pacing in the movie is a bit off and the movie is a bit bland cerebrally, but I agree with Cobra that at the time it came out it was pretty ridiculously awesome. Especially the light cycles.

The only thing that gets me now is the MCP's henchman guy. His costume is horrible. It's like a crappy foam hat/hood thing with some cardboard on it.
