There's a soccer ball button in the control panel of all youtube videos. Clicking it will add a very loud vuvuzela to it.
-
I hold a deep affection for the vuvuzela. It doesn't matter whether an epic, professional match is taking place or a horrible amateur match is unfolding - the addition of the vuvuzela nullifies everything. It makes you hate everything taking place in the vicinity.
Also, obligatory Onion article. (http://www.theonion.com/articles/south-african-vuvuzela-philharmonic-angered-by-soc,17625/)

This might be appropriate:
Stardock's Devuvuzelator (http://www.stardock.com/about/newsitem.asp?id=1847)
If you are a fan of the World Cup, but hate the annoying sounds of the vuvuzela then check out the latest free application from Stardock in collaboration with the Centre for Digital Music at Queen Mary, University of London.
Just download and run the program below to filter your live World Cup broadcast in real-time (ESPN3, BBC, etc), choosing which level of de-vuvuzela'ing filtering you find most suitable. No installation required, just download and run!
Honestly, I don't find the vuvzela particularly annoying.. No more annoying than the standard noise of football i.e. air horn (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_horn). Actually I find the vuvuzela way less annoying than those f*cking air horns.
-
Except the air horns don't play in unison for 3 straight fucking hours.

vuvuzela = kryptonite for white people.

Do you really want to make this about race?
-
No, it was a joke. Relax.
Teams and fans from all corners of the world (incl. members of my own extended family) are complaining about the vuvuzelas.
People familiar with sport in Africa are used to it however, so we probably don't find it as annoying.
-
No, man, I'm sorry. I didn't mean that to come across as hostile. I knew it was a joke.
-
haha sorry!
Let me balance the scales with some Argentina fans:

hahahah
edit:
That sound was very annoying. Doesn't seem as bad during the matches. Hmmm... I am watching the matches using my standard Samsung TV speakers. Do you guys have 5.1 setups on your TV?
-
Pure gold!
Do you guys have 5.1 setups on your TV?
Yes, but it seems like the broadcasters (at least the CBC feeds I'm watching here in Canada) aren't using the surround channels that much (I can barely hear them) so it's not more annoying than standard stereo.
Having said I'm kind of used to the horns by now. Still wouldn't want to hear it outside of South Africa though. Also, supposedly the company that records the matches is filtering the sound a bit more now. The games in "Soccer City" are still damn loud though.
-
Haha! I just now got it. I have noscript going at home, so I heard nothing. Here at Sandy's the noise gets to grate in all its glory.

Hahaha that explains apartheid!! :P
Thanks for the atmospheric special effect, Ghandi! ;D
