Sounds familiar.. Though I just found out that the Naked Gun movies were based on a TV show called Police Squad! also starring Leslie Nielsen as Frank Drebbin. Just watched the first 3 episodes, and it's just as ridiculous!

Frank: Did the lab analyse the ransom note yet?
Chief: Yeah, they want 1 million dollars.
Frank: Why would the lab want a million bucks??
Chief: The kidnappers, Frank, the kidnappers.

Looks like its run was all of 2 episodes.  Why I remember it, I have no idea.

Well, this post lead me on a fun-filled trip through wikipedia and youtube looking into old school cartoons I used to watch.

Yeah, I knew that, but I've never seen the show.  Sounds pretty good.  Maybe I'll check it out.
