I wasn't paying much attention to this one but it just popped up on Impulse and apparently everywhere else. For some reason I was under the impression this was a Steamworks title but I guess they went with GWFL instead.
Sadly I don't see a demo, and the first game never had one either (there was a demo but only on 360). I really need to try it before I buy to see if I can handle the netcode, though I hear its got kickass bots. A seller on Amazon has the first game for $5 and I'm tempted to get it as a trial.
-
Kickass bots, really? I downloaded the X360 trial, and found it impressive for a cheap XBLA offering, but ultimately dismissed it as another multiplayer-heavy shooter with a limited SP campaign. If the vs bots mode is good, then I might reconsider. I remember how much I liked UT against the bots.
-
I can't really say one way or the other but a few sources mentioned the bots are pretty good.
-
I liked the first one but the problem was there weren't enough people playing online, at least in my region.
It's an Unreal engine game and I think it's the same netcode as most others Unreal games except that now it's run through GFWL (like Bulletstorm). Not sure how well it handles on dial-up but I know it scales really well on low-bandwidth connections i.e. 256kbps and 512kbps.

Well thats good news. Unreal netcode treats me pretty well. I was able to play UT3 and Borderlands without much issue.
