Wow, that looks amazing. As awesome as the screenies look, the videos are EVEN more dazzling...
The narrator is a cool idea, but I'd worry it'd get like this (http://www.220.ro/desene-animate/Family-Guy-Randy-Newman/O4pfCdxLrx/).
Kasavin pointed to his current project, Bastion, as being guided by that approach to exposition. He said the team couldn't do story in a traditional sense with expensive pre-rendered cutscenes, so the narrative had to be conveyed through gameplay. To that end, the game features a narrator reacting to the game in real-time. The narrator never repeats a line, and he reacts to the player's actions, Kasavin said. Systemically, every weapon in the game introduces its own wrinkle of new gameplay.

Yea it actually is a pretty nifty idea, as long as they keep it in check. As everyone pointed out, those videos are from the introductory bits of the game, so hopefully he isn't so annoying later.
When you pick one of the two options for upgrading a weapon, you can always go back into the forge and switch to the other option for each level of upgrade!
For instance, say you get a sword. You find the upgrade material and pay the 150 spacebucks to unlock the first of the three upgrades. Now you get to choose whether you're unlocking +1 damage or +10% to critical hit chance. So you pick +1 damage (duh) and you go on your merry way. However, you can always come back and toggle over to +10% to critical hit chance. You have unlocked both options! This is true at every level of upgrade for every weapon.
Only negative review so far has been that annoying moron from Destructoid, whatever his name is.Jim Sterling. (http://www.destructoid.com/review-bastion-206398.phtml)
• DRM-freeUh, I'm fairly sure those are mutually exclusive concepts.

Cloud saves, Leaderboards, and Steam achievements.
PC version hits Steam on Aug 16. (http://supergiantgames.com/?p=967)
It does say its coming to other services as well, though whether those also require Steam is yet to be seen.
Uh, I'm fairly sure those are mutually exclusive concepts.
@kasavin Are ALL digital versions of Bastion PC going to require Steamworks?
@MysterD We don't expect the other versions will require it, no.
@kasavin Any idea yet if Bastion PC is going to Impulse? Direct2Drive? Gamersgate? Amazon download service? Anywhere else digitally?
@MysterD Hey, not confirmed yet about which other specific services other than Steam.
No, we have no plans to extend the game in that way. As I was saying before, we held nothing back. It's meant to be a complete story, so there are no obvious extensions. We of course intend to continue supporting the game and I guess you could call something like the Portal turrets DLC. We'll continue looking at things like that which we could do, but that's it.
Que's spot on with the soundtrack praise. Holy shit.Oh yeah, I was really glad I pitched in the extra few bucks to get the soundtrack along with the game! I have it on my phone and I listen to it occasionally; something about it is soothing to me.
Now on GamersGate (http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-BASTION/bastion), DRM free!
The Stranger’s Dream DLC includes:
· The Stranger’s Dream: a new fully narrated Who Knows Where sequence, bigger and more challenging than the others. You’ll gain a bit more insight into Rucks’ backstory as well as the history of Caelondia if you can survive this fight.
· Score Attack Mode: a challenging new way to play through the story! You start at level one with all Spirits and Idols unlocked. Your combat performance is rated for efficiency, and all areas are repeatable.
· No-Sweat Mode: for those who just want to experience the story of Bastion, this mode provides unlimited chances to carry on from where you left off if you’re defeated in battle.
The Steam and XBLA versions of the game will also contain new Leaderboards for the Stranger’s Dream and Score Attack Mode.
To access the Stranger’s Dream sequence as well as Score Attack Mode, you need to have finished the game at least once. The Stranger’s Dream sequence will be available early on in your New Game Plus or Score Attack play-through.
Check this out: If you use Google Chrome to browse the Internet, now you can also use it to play Bastion right in your browser. Our game is now available in the Chrome Web Store. Crazy, but true!
DLC! (http://supergiantgames.com/?p=1212)I'm even more so so glad I bought the Bastion: SE from Gamersgate w/ NO DRM.
Good news is its free on PC and only $1 on XBLA.
MysterD
@kasavin Any word when Stranger's Dream DLC is coming to Bastion Non-Steam PC versions?
@kasavin
@MysterD We're working on it. Some parts of the process are outside of our control so I can't give an exact ETA though hopefully soon.
