I thought this (http://www.tweaktown.com/news/17428/dell_streak_gets_video_game_control_with_hacked_snes_controller/index.html) was pretty awesome!

It's pretty cool in itself but the implication on the possibilities for other devices are great.

Thats a weird button layout.
Yeah, it's the NES controller plus two extra face buttons (and two shoulder buttons).
-
Yeah I get that, just strange they didn't go for the diamond formation that has been standard since the SNES. But who knows, maybe it works fine like that as well.
-
Dunno, maybe patents?
-
Thats retarded enough to probably be true.
-
Not sure if ThinkGeek are concerned about patents, afterall they brought us this little USB wonder:

I won't discount the possibility that the buttons on the original SNES controller are slanted due to patents :P

Wasn't sure if I should put this in the Kickstarter thread but, well, choice made I'll have to live with it :P
iMpulse is the world’s smallest Bluetooth gaming controller (http://www.geek.com/articles/gadgets/impulse-is-the-worlds-smallest-bluetooth-gaming-controller-20120925/)

Interesting if potentially uncomfortably small, still a valid alternative to touchscreen soft controllers.
